I-5 FREEWAY SCHEDULED FOR CLOSURES
AS PART OF INTERCHANGE PROJECT
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works will implement a series of freeway closures for the I-5 Freeway both southbound and northbound near Hasley Canyon Road in the community of Castaic.
The northbound I-5 Freeway is scheduled for full closure on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. and Friday March 5, 2010 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The detour for northbound traffic will begin at Exit 126 West, continue south on Commerce Center Drive, east on Henry Mayo Drive, and north on The Old Road to the northbound I-5 on-ramp at Lake Hughes Road.
The southbound I-5 Freeway is scheduled for full closure on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. and March Thursday March 4, 2010 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The detour for southbound I-5 traffic will begin at the Lake Hughes off-ramp and continue south on The Old Road to the southbound I-5 on-ramp just north of Rye Canyon.
In addition to the overnight closures, the Hasley Canyon northbound off-ramp will be closed on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at midnight and will remain closed for one week to allow for reconstruction of the ramp.
Message boards will be posted to guide motorists through the detours. California Highway Patrol officers will also be at the site to assist motorists further if necessary.
