Current Status at a Glance

Procurement is moving ahead for those agencies that have made their selections. The construction contract for the segment of fiber optic interconnect extending from Stoner Creek to Nogales Street on Colima Road (approximately 1.5 miles), which includes CCTV cameras at Nogales Street/Colima Road and Fullerton Road/Colima Road has been advertised and is expected to be awarded in March 2008.

Design for the CCTV cameras is complete for unincorporated County locations and is in the final stage at all other locations.

February 2008 Update

Project Status

The detailed design and system procurement phase is under way.  The City of San Dimas has selected their system for the proposed ATMS, per the Concept Design report recommendations. The installation of the ATMS systems in the cities of Diamond Bar, La Verne, and Claremont is underway.  The report summarizing the existing communication infrastructure in the cities of San Dimas and Claremont has been reviewed by the County and is awaiting revisions by the consultant. This will help identify the communication needs within these cities.

The construction contract for the segment of fiber optic interconnect extending from Stoner Creek to Nogales Street on Colima Road (approximately 1.5 miles), which includes CCTV cameras at Nogales Street/Colima Road and Fullerton Road/Colima Road has been advertised and closed after receiving bids.  This contract is expected to be awarded in March 2008.

The design for the CCTV cameras in the following locations is in the final stage:

  • Claremont—Indian Hill/Arrow Highway
  • Diamond Bar—Golden Springs Drive/Grand Avenue; Grand Avenue/Diamond Bar Boulevard; Diamond Bar Boulevard/Golden Springs Drive; Diamond Bar Boulevard/Pathfinder Road; Golden Springs Drive/Brea Canyon Road; and Golden Springs Drive/Lemon Avenue.
  • Industry—Azusa Avenue/Gale Avenue; Fullerton Road/Gale Avenue; and Azusa Avenue/Colima Road.
  • Industry/LA County—Hacienda Boulevard/Gale Avenue; and Nogales Street/Gale Avenue/Walnut Drive.
  • La Verne—Arrow Highway/White Avenue
  • San Dimas—Arrow Highway/Bonita/210 Ramps; and Arrow Highway/Maimone Avenue.

The cities of Diamond Bar and Industry intend to contribute local funding to purchase additional CCTV cameras in their respective jurisdictions.

Next Steps

  • Final PS&E of Field Elements (CCTVs at various locations within the cities of Diamond Bar, Industry, San Dimas, Claremont, and La Verne)
  • Complete communication infrastructure and needs assessment in San Dimas and Claremont
  • Procurement of ATMS at each agency
  • Award Colima Road fiber optic communications and unincorporated County CCTV camera locations construction contract to contractor.
