103rd Street Green Improvement Project

BENEFITS

The public is increasingly aware of water resources challenges, but much still needs to be done to raise awareness of the availability of innovative, environmentally sustainable solutions.

Connectivity

• 0.25 Mile Road Rehabilitation
• Sidewalk improvements
• Enhanced Crossings

Stormwater Use

• Bioswales
• Low Impact Development
• Porous Concrete

Aesthetics

• Landscaping
• Solar Trash Receptacles
• Educational signage

The 103rd Street Green Improvement Project will add ecological infrastructure components to a road rehabilitation project. The green improvements along the roadway and adjacent parking areas will capture and use urban runoff and stormwater. This collected water will help offset drought conditions as well as improve downstream waterbodies such as Compton Creek and the Los Angeles River.
