Public Works will conduct its first countywide "Brag About Your Bag®" reusable bag campaign beginning on “America Recycles Day”, November 15 and runs through “A Day without A Bag”, December 17, 2009. We will team up with Albertsons, HOWS, Ralphs, Top Valu, and Valu Plus supermarkets to host countywide reusable bag giveaway events and distribute over 50,000 reusable bags.

Simply visit any participating supermarket, bring in 5 single-use plastic bags for recycling and exchange them for a free stylish “Brag About Your Bag®” reusable shopping bag.

Select supermarket locations will host events where residents will be able to receive, in addition to other giveaways, stylish reusable bagsin exchange for single-use bags which will then be recycled.
We are excited to announce that joining us for the Brag about your Bag® campaign will be NBA World Champion star forward Luke Walton. As the official campaign spokesperson, Walton will voice commercials on 710 ESPN Radio and make appearances at campaign events along with the Los Angeles Laker girls.

When you bring in your 5 plastic bags, you will also help Walton build the biggest plastic bag ball. Stay tuned for details and updates!

Participate and Win!!! When you come to any of our campaign events to recycle your 5 plastic bags in exchange for a reusable bag, you will also be eligible to win prizes!
