ATTITUDES TOWARD WATER POLLUTION CLEAN-UP AMONG ALL RESIDENTS
- Slightly more Los Angeles County residents indicate that they would definitely change their behaviors in order to help clean up the water in the ocean, rivers and lakes.
- Specifically, Los Angelenos are almost all willing to change most of their pollution-causing activities.
- They are, however, somewhat resistant to cutting down on or eliminating the use of fertilizers and pesticides.
- They are also not likely to put hazardous materials out for curb-side pick up, perhaps because they do not want such materials out for collection in their neighborhoods.
- More are willing to take these items to a collection event than they were five years ago.
- Residents are somewhat more willing to participate in community clean-up events (69%) than are willing to pay up to $5.00 a month for the County to clean up the environment (61%).
