Recycling for Businesses
Recycling is smart business. Each year, businesses in the Los Angeles County unincorporated areas send over 600,000 tons of waste to the landfills but some of these materials can be recycled or put to beneficial reuse. Being environmentally-conscious can also be economical. Implement sustainable practices at your workplace and you could:
- Become a sustainable leader
- Attract new customers
- Improve inventory operations
- Save your company money
- Conserve landfill space
- Protect the environment
- Comply with State laws AB 341 and AB 1826
Recycling is the Law
Mandatory Recycling for Businesses
Effective July 1, 2012, the State's Mandatory Commercial Recycling law (AB 341)
requires all businesses that generate 4 cubic yards or more of solid waste per week to arrange for recycling services.
Beginning April 1, 2016, the State's Mandatory Organic Waste Recycling law (AB 1826)
will phase in requirements for businesses that generate specified amounts of organic waste to arrange for recycling services
