The County conducted a free waste tire collection event in La Puente on Saturday, November 16, 2002.
Flyers and advertisements were posted, and nearby cities and Chamber of Commerces helped spread the word about the event.
Approximately 220 residents participated and 950 tires were collected and recycled.
Residents received coupons for a free dozen glazed donuts as a thank you.
