Question:
Great news that the Women's Council has been established, but, what are the reasons for its creation? Specifically, are we experiencing problems?

Answer:
The Women's Council is one of several groups working hard to assist the Department in achieving its Values Management goal. The Council is working on identifying obstacles faced by women at all levels and all classifications within the Department to promote an environment where women feel safe and encouraged to pursue their career goals. The Council has been meeting every month since it was established in 2004 to work on its goal of developing recommendations to management with actions, programs, and activities that are required to accomplish its objectives.
