Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
What is Conservation Usage and how is it determined?

Answer:
The Conservation Usage shown on your bill is the quantity of water you consumed above the monthly allowance for your meter size (10 units for a 3/4" meter per billing period) and below the Conservation Tier Limit (40 units during the summer and 30 units during the winter, per billing period). Your Conservation Usage is billed at a rate of 10 percent less than the regular quantity charge per unit of water.

The Conservation Tier Limits were determined by calculating the amount of water needed for a family implementing water conservation measures to the maximum extent practicable.
