Question:
The building ev chargers where everyone in the area with an electric car would charge with now say public works only Every time I go those chargers are empty can something be done a lot of local folks who live in apartments rely on those also we would be willing to pay we just need somewhere to charge please help the local community were willing to pay

Answer:
For your inquiry regarding public use of our electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS).
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced as a result of restricting public access to the charging stations. . Unfortunately, as of July 1, 2020, new State regulations pertaining to publicly used EVCS require annual reporting of usage. The EVSE’s we currently have onsite are not capable of providing the detailed information requested by the State. We will be installing new EVSE’s for public use sometime in 2021. The new EVSE’s will require payment for usage. The rate for usage is currently set at $0.30/kWh.

As you may know, there are several EVCS apps available, that can be downloaded for free, that help to locate EVCS’s, such as PlugShare, Chargepoint, Charge Hub. The following addresses for EVCS’s available for public use in close proximity to Public Works Headquarters Office:
