Question:
Who are the members of the HSC and how many members are there?

Answer:
A total of seven commissioners and an Executive Officer comprise the HSC:

- Five: One nominated by each of the five Los Angeles County Supervisors.

- Two: Two nominated by the Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors upon recommendation provided by private and parochial schools, and the Los Angeles County Board of Education.

- The Executive Officer to the HSC serves as liaison between the Commission, DPW and the Board of Supervisors. The Executive Officer provides staff assistance to and coordinates the activities of the HSC which include preparation and distribution of agendas, meeting minutes, notice of meetings and reports for meetings. The Executive Officer also maintains files and records of HSC activities.
