LA County adopted the Reduction of Waste from Single-Use Articles and Expanded Polystyrene Products Ordinance which requires food facilities, such as restaurants, in unincorporated LA County to use compostable or recyclable foodware such as cups, plates, utensils, straws, and condiment containers. Products made of expanded polystyrene are also prohibited.
