The area north of the Malibu Canyon Road tunnel, where the landslide occurred a couple weeks ago, has a depression and I am worried the area under the road is moving. I am a licensed Geologist who has driven this road daily for years.
Answer:
Both our Road Maintenance Division personnel from the local road yard and at least 2 geologists from Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Division have traveled this area over the last 2 weeks. We did not observe a depression that might affect the road or the subgrade.
