Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
I would like to know how to dispose of a working home appliance (such as a window air conditioner, freezer, etc.).

ANSWER:
You have several options for your appliance. Since it still works, we suggest donating it to a local charity. Not only will you keep a usable item out of our landfills but you may get a tax write-off too. Thrift stores such as Goodwill (888-4GOODWILL) or Salvation Army (800-95TRUCK) should take it (call first to confirm). Another reuse option is to list it on the County's Material Exchange web site, www.LACoMAX.com.
