Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
Does Electronic Waste also include film cameras - both still and video?

Answer:
Digital (film) cameras are considered Electronic Waste (E-Waste); all other types may be safely disposed of in the trash. If you are not sure, you can always bring your camera to one of our weekly Household Hazardous Waste/E-Waste Collection Events -- business waste will not accepted (link provided below).

However, if your camera still works we suggest donating it to a local charity or thrift store. Not only will you keep a usable item out of our landfills but you may get a tax write-off too. Another reuse option is to list it on the County's Material Exchange web site, www.LACoMAX.com.
