Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
I notice that the County installed larger and more attractive street name signs in my community. Why didn't you upgrade the street name signs on my corner?

Answer:
Street name sign upgrade projects are underway in the unincorporated County communities. The scope of those projects is limited and only covers those streets in which the speed limit is greater than 25mph. Most streets are residential and typically the speed limit on streets of that type is 25mph. This is also true if speed limit signs do not exist. Streets of this nature do not meet the criteria for the upgraded signs. This work to upgrade the signs on the higher speed roads is continuing in the County. Once this upgrade work is completed in all of the County communities, we anticipate beginning a long term program to replace remaining signs.
