Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
Why is there a fee for the Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District on my property tax roll if my property is not connected to the sewers?

Answer:
Your property is within the Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District (CSMD) because there is a public sewer main available to serve you. The public sewer main is maintained by the CSMD to protect public health in accordance with the Los Angeles County Code, Section 20.40.030. It is, therefore, necessary to impose an annual sewer maintenance charge on your property tax roll.
