New Fire Station 150
Pathfinder RoadThe project is a new 19,667-square-foot Division and Battalion Headquarters fire station that consists of a three-bay apparatus room, a main office, a training room, a day room, Assistant Fire Chief office/quarters, Battalion Chief office/quarters and dormitory quarters for 10 shift personnel. The scope also includes all pertinent site work. The $5.5 million project is scheduled for completion in December 2012.
Lennox Library and Community Center Project
Pathfinder RoadThe Lennox Library and Community Center project is a renovation and addition to the one-story, 1946 Lennox Library and Sheriff’s Station located at 4359 and 4343 Lennox Boulevard in Lennox, CA. The existing building contains 16,100 square feet. The project will demolish 2,900 square feet, renovate the 3,000-square-foot existing library, construct a new 5,900-square-foot addition to the library, and renovate 7,200 square feet for a community meeting rooms, County Supervisor’s office, and other County uses. The $8.4 million project is scheduled for completion in March 2014.
Makeover to Boost Stretch of Pathfinder Road
Pathfinder RoadA mile-long stretch of Pathfinder Road in the unincorporated community of Rowland Heights is getting a makeover thanks to the reconstruction and resurfacing of roadway pavement. The project includes the reconstruction of curb, gutters, curb ramps and sidewalks, traffic signal modifications, and the installation of striping and pavement markings. The $1.2 million operation is on track for an August 2012 completion date.
Synching Up the Signals Along Marine Avenue
Marine AvenueWork is underway on a $522,000 traffic signal synchronization project for South Bay's Marine Avenue. The six-mile-long project route runs through the Cities of Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Hawthorne, Lawndale, and Gardena along with areas of unincorporated Los Angeles County. The upgrades to signals at 15 intersections means that commuters will soon see improved traffic flow along one of the South Bay's busier thoroughfares. The project will be completed in August 2012.
One for the Roads in Lennox and East Rancho Dominquez
Hawthorne BlvdTwo of the County's major thoroughfares are currently in the midst of a significant upgrade. Hawthorne Boulevard in the unincorporated community of Lennox and Atlantic Avenue in the unincorporated community of East Rancho Dominguez are seeing the landscaping of the existing roadway medians as well as new parkway trees, irrigation systems, monument signs, and decorative crosswalks. The $750,000 project is schedule to be completed in September 2012.
Preservation Road Work in Canyon Country
Escondido CanyonTwo lengthy sections of roads in the unincorporated community of Canyon Country are currently undergoing a roadway preservation operation. In total, more than 13 miles of roadway along Escondido Canyon Road and Soledad Canyon Road are getting a scrub seal and microsurfacing of the existing roadway pavement and the installation of striping and pavement markings. The $1.5 million project is scheduled for completion in November 2012.
