Past Years

In the past, winning schools have been treated to lunchtime concerts on their campuses (administration permission required), along with a variety of Generation Earth giveaway items.

Past winners have included: Markham Middle School, San Gabriel Christian School, Paul Revere Charter Middle School, Hughes Middle School, Esteban Torres High School, Jefferson High School, and Palisades Charter High School.

• Fifty-eight schools participated in the 2012 Battle of the Schools Competition, diverting over 184,000 pounds of materials from area landfills!
• Hughes Middle School diverted over 26 pounds per student of materials from area landfills in 2012. Students made over $1500 from recycling bottles and cans, and collected over 10,000 pounds of electronic waste.
• San Gabriel Christian School won their district two years in a row! This past year, San Gabriel Christian School diverted over 21 pounds of materials per student!
