NEW CONSTRUCTION PREPARATORY WORK SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY AT HASLEY/I-5 ROUNDABOUT PROJECT SITE
Phase 3 Construction of the roundabout at the intersection of the Hasley Canyon Road and The Old Road will begin on Monday, March 30, 2009. In preparation for the start of this phase of construction, the temporary traffic signal will be removed and a temporary roundabout consisting of one traffic lane in both directions will be created for motorists. Traffic directional signage will be installed in the vicinity, prior to approaching the roundabout.
The temporary traffic signal will be turned off at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2009, to begin its removal. The Hasley Canyon northbound off-ramp will also be closed at 7:00 a.m. and is expected to re-open at 3:00 p.m.
The message board signs along the I-5 northbound will convey the closure and reopening times of the off-ramp. There will be CHP officers present at the site on Monday to assist motorists as necessary.
Please note that the Hasley Canyon southbound on-ramp at Hasley Canyon will remain closed during this operation.
The tentative completion date of this part of Phase 3 is scheduled for late May to mid-June 2009. At that time, the two-lane roundabout will be open to traffic.
The Hasley/I-5 improvement project will increase the capacity of the interchange and local roadways to improve mobility, enhance safety, alleviate congestion and delay, and accommodate planned growth while minimizing impacts on surrounding properties.
