The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works (Public Works) has scheduled a full closure for Vasquez Canyon Road.  The closure is necessary to remove the interim bridge on Vasquez Canyon Road and begin construction of the new permanent bridge.  The date and time of this closure is subject to change.

The schedule is as follows:

·         Monday, August 24, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., both east and westbound traffic lanes will be closed.

After the Monday closure, one lane will be opened for east and westbound traffic.  Traffic flow will be regulated by a temporary traffic signal.

During the full closure, heavy cranes will remove parts of the interim bridge that was installed after the wooden Vasquez Canyon Road Bridge was destroyed in the Buckweed fire in 2007.
