Pilot Project 4 Calle Barcelona, Calle Madrid, Crosshaven Drive

March 18, 2004

Dear Resident:

Re: Upcoming Traffic Calming Study in Your Neighborhood

You are invited to participate in creating a traffic-calming program for your street.  Every residence on your street has received this notice.  Now is your opportunity to participate in this program, to make a difference in the community, and help decide whether traffic-calming measures are needed and, if so, where they should be implemented.

What is Traffic Calming?

It is a means to reduce traffic volumes, traffic speeds, vehicle noise, and visual impacts in residential neighborhoods to improve safety and the general enjoyment of your neighborhood.

How? By applying traffic safety, education, traffic law enforcement, and innovative “tools” of traffic engineering methods to calm traffic.

How do I participate?

Join with your neighbors, representatives of Supervisor Don Knabe, community leaders, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works for a Workshop.

SO, MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

Where:     Rowland Heights Elementary School

                    2036 South Fullerton Road

                    Cafeteria

When:        April 1, 2004

  6:30 p.m. to 8:45 PM

Sincerely,

Your Neighborhood Traffic Management Team
