Residents actively make notes of speeding vehicles and warning letters are sent to owners by Agency staff.
This is a program that allows residents to alert drivers of excessive speed without the risk of citation. The system requires active community support to be effective. The neighborhood association activates the program. When a speed issue is identified, pertinent information is collected by volunteers.
Data collected and reviewed by agency staff will determine action - which may include locating a Radar Trailer (see description) on the affected street. When in place, residents will record the license plate and speed of speeding vehicles. Friendly letters are then sent to the owners advising them to reduce speeds or risk citation.
