|A Revised and Recirculated Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) is currently being prepared. A public review period is planned for early 2020.
The Big Tujunga Reservoir Restoration Project proposes to remove up to 4.4 million cubic yards (mcy) of accumulated sediment from Big Tujunga Reservoir. The Station Fire resulted in an additional 1.3 mcy of debris. This material must be removed as soon as possible to maintain the Dam as a fully functional component of Los Angeles County Flood Control System.
The project bid period is anticipated in Summer 2021. Activities at Maple Sediment Placement Site are scheduled to start in Fall 2021 before sediment removal activities begin in Spring 2022.
