PURPOSE OF CEQA/NEPA:

The purpose of CEQA/NEPA is to analyze the proposed project's potential impacts on the environment, to inform decision-makers and the public about potentially significant environmental impacts of a project, and to identify ways that environmental damage can be avoided or significantly reduced. As part of this process, project alternatives (that will reduce one or more of the proposed project's environmental impacts) will be identified.
