The El Nino Storm Hazard Areas Website provides users the ability to identify areas of moderate to high flood and mudslide risk within LA County.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) produces authoritative data that depicts areas that are subject to flood hazards. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has incorporated this data into an interactive map available to the public.

High Flood Risk Area:
Potential for swift moving flood waters of various depths (inland); or high velocity wave action (coastal)
Moderate Flood Risk Area:
Potential for slow moving shallow flooding, less than a foot deep
High Risk Mudslide and Debris Flow Area:
Potential for mass mudflow from steep hillsides in burned watersheds
Moderate Risk Mudslide and Debris Flow Area:
Potential for surficial mudflow from steep vegetated hillsides
