TRAFFIC TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM
Developed in 1987, the Traffic Technician Training Program is a vital part of Los Angeles County Department of Public Works success and reputation as a leading traffic signal and streetlight maintenance organization. The program gives its candidates knowledge and experience to confidently progress to the journey-level position of Traffic Signal Electrician. This in-house apprenticeship program provides extensive training in the fields of traffic signal routine maintenance, repair, construction, field testing, and inspecting signal systems, and streetlights. It offers its candidates an opportunity to be mentored by journey-level Traffic Signal Electricians with many years of experience. The four year program offers qualified candidates the on-the-job training required to meet the qualifications for advancement to the position of Traffic Technician II and Traffic Signal Electrician.
