Public Works is in the process of implementing franchise waste collection systems by late Spring-Fall 2011 in the following areas:

Public Works is currently working on contracts that will provide residents with a higher level of standard services, including extra containers for recycling and green waste, bulky item collections twice per year, special community cleanup events, excess green waste collection, free rollout services for the elderly and/or disabled, and senior discounts for qualifying seniors. In addition, the new contracts will include green programs such as the use of clean fuel vehicles, electronic waste collection events, and other programs.
