Eastman Selected for $375 Million DOE Funding, Announces Second Molecular Recycling Facility in U.S.

Eastman plans to construct its second molecular recycling facility in Longview, Texas, which will enable the company to recycle approximately 110,000 metric tons of hard-to-recycle plastic waste.  The facility will use a methanolysis technology that transforms waste materials back into their original chemical components to create new products. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently selected Eastman to begin award negotiations for up to $375 million in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act funding as part of the Industrial Demonstrations Program. Eastman's partnership with the DOE is anticipated to achieve significant improvements in decarbonizing plastic production. For more information, click here.

NEW ANAEROBIC DIGESTION FACILITY

Divert Chooses North Carolina for Its 3rd Anaerobic Digestion Facility

Divert announced the construction of an anaerobic digestion facility in North Carolina, following the development of its two full-scale facilities in Turlock, California, and Longview, Washington, set to open this year.  The company's latest facility will utilize a natural recycling process that turns organic waste, like food scraps and manure, into renewable energy. Comparable in size to the California and Washington facilities, the new project is projected to handle around 100,000 tons of food waste annually once fully operational.
