Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Yvonne Burke (2nd District) and Michael D. Antonovich (5th District), County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works'' officials, South Bay area Civic leaders, and Los Angeles County area city managers. The deployment of the County’s Kimley-Horn Integrated Transportation System (KITS) and the installation of wireless communication at the “First 51” intersections located in the South Bay area of the County. In addition, County officials will also commemorate the inclusion of the City of Los Angeles’ traffic signals into to the County’s Information Exchange Network (IEN). The KITS system along with wireless communication devices will allow Public Works staff to manage the synchronizations of traffic lights in the intersections connected to the system. Now South Bay area traffic lights can be adjusted to address traffic congestion by staff located in the TMC miles away in Alhambra. The sharing of information supported by the IEN will allow the coordination and synchronization of traffic signals on major arterials throughout the County.
