The Hasley Canyon Park Stormwater Improvement Project (Project), located in the Unincorporated Los Angeles County area of Castaic (28700 Quincy St, Castaic, CA 91384), will revitalize an existing park with new stormwater infrastructure, drought tolerant landscaping, low-impact-development features, a walking path and educational signage. The Project will capture and treat dry-weather and stormwater runoff from a 150-acre drainage area, with up to 5 acre-feet of runoff during a single storm event, by infiltrating runoff in a subsurface infiltration gallery underneath the park fields. The Project will improve the water quality of creeks, rivers, and ocean, increase local water supply (Santa Clara River Valley Basin), provide community enhancements such as drought-tolerant landscaping, and provide educational and outreach opportunities.
