Ladera Park Regional Stormwater Capture Project

Ladera Park

BENEFITS

The public is increasingly aware of water resources challenges, but much still needs to be done to raise awareness of the availability of innovative, environmentally sustainable solutions.

Water Quality

• Underground Infiltration System
• Bioswales
• Low Impact Development

Water Supply

• Using stormwater and non-stormwater runoff to irrigate the landscape at Ladera Park

Community

• Demonstration Garden with native and drought tolerant plants
• Educational signage

The Ladera Park Stormwater Capture Project is located in the unincorporated area of Ladera Heights, the Project will capture and infiltrate urban runoff and stormwater from 110 acres of mostly residential and commercial land from neighboring areas.

The use of this water will help offset drought conditions as well as improve downstream waterbodies such as Centinela Creek and Ballona Creek.
