Walnut Park Pocket Park and Stormwater Project

The Walnut Park Pocket Park project will create a new, half-acre pocket park on a vacant corner lot in the unincorporated Walnut Park neighborhood of southeast Los Angeles County. The project will provide the community with a colorful splash pad plaza, shaded playground areas, a walking path with exercise equipment, grassy play area, picnic areas, and a small park building with restrooms, storage areas, and offices. A multi-benefit Stormwater Retention Project is also part of the project and will include underground stormwater capture components such as catch basins and infiltration drywells. The park will be operated and maintained by DPR and the stormwater components will be operated and maintained by Public Works.
