Los Angeles County Public Works Fiscal Year 2026-27 Requested Budget

The Los Angeles County Public Works’ Fiscal Year 2026-27 Requested Budget of $4.2 billion is comprised of multiple funds that finance over 182 operating functions and is allocated to five core service areas.  This $4.2 billion Requested Budget is primarily funded by revenues, such as taxes (gas, sales, and property), benefit assessments, water sales, sewer service charges, and permit fees.  The budget reflects a request of 4,255(2) positions ranging from laborers to professional engineers, technical, and administrative staff.

Over 2% ($106 million)(1) of the budget is funded by County General Fund dollars to finance Board discretionary programs and projects.
