OVERVIEW
Public Works is responsible for maintaining traffic signals and other electrically powered traffic control devices within unincorporated Los Angeles County and in numerous Cities in the County that contract for those services. Essential to these services is a dedication to the technical abilities of the involved personnel, the accuracy of records created and maintained, and the customer service provided to the agencies and cities as well as the impacted establishments and constituents. Of equal importance is the ability to provide flexible, responsive, efficient, and effective services in order to maximize mobility and safety to the public. The Public Works maintenance program is all encompassing and the depth of services provided is broad. Numerous personnel are involved to ensure its continuing success. Highly professional and trained personnel provide maintenance, operation, construction, and repair services to traffic signal systems, their components, and a wide variety of other electrically powered traffic control devices. Involved staff attends frequent and intensive technical training to keep them current on emerging technologies. Support personnel strive to ensure that required equipment, material, and parts are quickly available. Numerous additional support personnel are responsible for maintaining records of all activities and customer accounts. They are all dedicated to customer satisfaction by providing responsive and effective services.
