Updating the Floodplain Management Plan to maintain a strong
Community Rating System (CRS) Class Rating
The CRS recognizes, encourages, and rewards communities for activities that:
- Reduce and avoid flood damage to properties,
- Conduct outreach about flood risks, and
- Foster comprehensive floodplain management.
The Los Angeles County Public Works seeks to update its existing Floodplain Management Plan (FMP) with these objectives in mind. The FMP will address all County unincorporated area flood hazards using FEMA’s Hazus Program customized for the County to communicate flood risks to our community.
