The development project includes construction of a new 0.5-acre park with a staff office and public restroom building, playground areas, splash pad, an open lawn area, and additional park amenities. The building is designed to provide a base of operations for Department of Parks and Recreation and Sheriff’s Department Parks Bureau personnel to ensure safe and accessible recreation programming to the local community.

The stormwater capture elements include a diversion system and infiltration dry wells to divert and capture both urban and stormwater runoff. The Nogales Park Stormwater Capture Project will reduce bacteria and metal pollutants from entering the Los Angeles River through the capture of stormwater and urban runoff from a 27-acre drainage area.
