On Tuesday, November 16, 2010, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors adopted a prohibition on the purchase and use of all single use plastic carryout bags at County operations and certified the Final Environmental Impact Report.
The ordinance prohibits the distribution of single use plastic carryout bags at certain stores, as defined, in the County unincorporated area, and require said stores to charge 10¢ for each recyclable paper bag, as defined, provided to a customer.
