DEBRIS REMOVAL

Ash, debris, and fire damage on homes that have been tagged red and yellow by County Building and Safety may contain hazardous materials that can threaten public health. Due to a declaration of a Local Health Emergency, the removal of debris is prohibited until an inspection of the debris is conducted by federal, state, or local hazardous materials agencies. Recovery activities have been expedited to ensure the safe removal of hazardous waste and fire debris of homes damaged by the wildfires.
