Pacoima Spreading Grounds Enhancement Project (Water Resources)
Summary
The Project will increase capacity for stormwater capture and groundwater recharge at Pacoima Spreading Grounds. Additionally, the project will mitigate localized flooding, enhance native habitat, improve the site's aesthetics, incorporate bicycle lane, and provide space for future passive recreation features.
Benefits to Environmental Resources
The project will provide groundwater recharge benefits, and improved habitat and open space for a highly urbanized area.
Contribution to wellbeing of DPW and the County
The project will contribute to sustaining local water supplies  in Los Angeles County. The project will also mitigate potential for flooding at Arleta Street. Furthermore, the project will incorporate open space and recreation improvements for the community.
Contribution to Economic Health
The project provides economic benefits of improving local water supplies and reducing imported water demand.
