The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy received funding from the 1992
Los Angeles County Safe Neighborhood Parks Proposition to acquire and
develop a parcel of land adjacent to the Los Angeles River in Elysian
Valley. Formerly, a dilapidated house sat on the property, which is
now the park. The pocket park is landscaped with native vegetation
and is regularly used by local residents and by Friends of the Los
Angeles River for educational River programs.
