About Regional Planning

The Department of Regional Planning (LA County Planning) is responsible for land use planning in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Department services include zoning counseling and development project review as well as long range policy planning and zoning enforcement. The department uses EPIC-LA as a permitting system to accept and process land use applications.

Regional Planning also works collaboratively with other County departments on EPIC-LA through consultation, such as Public Works, Fire, Public Heath, Parks and Recreation, and Treasurer and Tax Collector.
