Journeyman Plumber
A Journeyman Plumber is “A person who installs, alters or repairs plumbing as an employee, who does not furnish any materials or supplies, and who is the legal possessor of a Journeyman Plumbers Certificate”. The definition is contained in section 105.2.5 of the 2002 Los Angeles County Plumbing Code. A “Certificate of Registration” is issued by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Building and Safety Division under section 105.2.2 of the Plumbing code.

Applicants must complete an application, pay an application fee, have at least 4 years of experience, and pass an examination administered by the Board of Examiners.

Is there a cost?
The cost to apply is $75.50. Failure to appear at, or cancellation, of or postponement of, your scheduled oral examination without 48 hours notice may result in forfeiture of this fee.

All licenses expire on June 30 biennially. The fee to renew is $75.50.
