Soft-Bottom Basin
A soft bottom basin cross section allows for a wide variety of habitat types, from upland slopes to riparian edges. This varied and dense vertical structure in planting allows for plant communities ranging from coastal sage scrub to southern cottonwood-willow riparian forests and wildlife life species such as the mule deer, great horned owl, and arroyo chub.
This cross section currently exists along the river at Sepulveda Basin.
